The world of Off UR Face is a place full of decadence and excess. It is also a place with a deep history, a place of ghosts. Watching over the inhabitants, from the panoramic windows on the top floor of the Asylum Private Members club, are the media and other corporate, mammon driven, types. These demons are epitomised by Scobie, a manipulating talent exploiter, who is scanning the streets, desperately looking for an act to save his dying career. On the streets we find the kids hanging out, drinking, watching gigs and forming bands, their heroes are DJ’s, celebrities, musicians, models, artists. Deep underground we find a lone cyber-nihilist, Zonko, orchestrating economic meltdown and information overload from his secret underground digital bunker. Into this world fall Steph and Jake, both new to the area, who are befriended by Daz, a well travelled, eccentric, drunken artist and angel. He connects with their youth, enthusiasm, passion, anxieties and vulnerabilities. Daz takes them under his wing, promising to help them realise their dreams, but inadvertently delivers them into the clutches of Scobie. Daz helplessly watches as Steph and Jake are turned by Scobie into burned out celebrity puppets. Zonko also monitors the shameless exploitation with disgust and his dormant humanity is re-awakened. This must be stopped! Zonko destroys his computer bunker and steps back into the real world, teaming up with Daz, to seek justice, revenge and redemption. Watch out Scobie! The pursuit of fame has never been so dangerous.
